Chinese premier holds symposium with foreign experts in China

Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Sunday afternoon held a symposium in Beijing with representatives of foreign experts who have won the Friendship Award for 2023 and those who are working in China before the Spring Festival, the Chinese Lunar New Year. 

Li extended New Year greetings and sincere wishes to foreign experts and their relatives, thanked them for their long-term concern and support for China’s development and construction, and listened attentively to the experts’ opinions and suggestions on China’s development and government work.

The Chinese premier pointed out that foreign experts have played an important role in promoting China’s economic and social development and facilitating exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries.

Li told foreign experts that China is comprehensively promoting Chinese modernization with high-quality development, which will release massive development opportunities and provide a broad stage for them.

Li also emphasized that China’s development is open development, and China welcomes talents from all over the world.

He voiced the hope that foreign experts will continue to participate in China’s development and fully display their talents on the stage of China’s modernization and construction, and at the same time continue to serve as a bridge between China and the world.

The Chinese government will continue to optimize relevant policies, further facilitate people-to-people exchanges, strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and other rights and interests, and create a better environment for talents from all over the world to come to work and live in China, Li added.

During the symposium, experts from Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Thailand, Russia and other countries also made speeches focusing on scientific and technological innovation cooperation, green development and talent cultivation.
